About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The objective of the journal Theologika is to promote the generation and dissemination of scientific information through the publication of biblical-exegetical, theological-systematic, historical and pastoral papers. It is aimed at teachers and students of theology, and religious leaders in general.

Peer Review Process

Editorial processThe articles must be original and unpublished, and should not be submitted simultaneously for publication in other journals. All submitted papers will be analyzed, according to scientific criteria, by external evaluators, through a confidential and anonymous (double blind) peer review system. In case of disagreement between the two reviewers’ reports, the editors of the journal will ask for a third evaluation. The editorial board of the journal will have the final decision in light of the evaluators' reports.

The journal will acknowledge receipt of the article submitted for publication. Likewise, the response on the evaluation and publication of the article will occur within two months from the day the article was received.

Evaluation times: An average time of eight weeks should be expected for the request for reviewers, their acceptance and delivery of their report. However, this period may be shorter or longer, depending on the availability of reviewers and other factors that may delay or speed up the process. The journal will only send the authors an official response about their article once it has a decision on the complete acceptance, conditional acceptance (with slight changes) or rejection (with modifications that imply a substantial rethinking of the proposal or when the article is outside the journal’s area of interest).

Open Access Policy

The articles in Theologika are freely accessable under the CC BY NC open access license.

Likewise, the journal works with the Unicheck platform to control for plagiarism.
