Abstract

This study explores the relationship between the Day of Atonement and God's law, emphasizing its significance in biblical theology and eschatology. It analyzes how Israel’s sanctuary purification rituals exemplified divine justice and mercy, foreshadowing the eschatological judgment and the vindication of God’s character. Through a typological approach, the article examines the sanctuary’s role in the divine covenant, the nature of sin and its atonement, and the relevance of these principles for contemporary Christian faith.
