Abstract

This study examines the book of Jonah from a theological and missional perspective, highlighting the universality of God’s call to salvation. It analyzes the prophet’s resistance to his mission, God’s compassionate character, and the effectiveness of the redemptive message even in hostile contexts. Through an eschatological reading, the article draws parallels between Jonah’s mission and the contemporary mandate to proclaim salvation. The role of preaching in executing the divine plan and its relevance for the modern church is emphasized.
